Family Life

Family life looks different for everyone. Some families are very affectionate and show their love verbally while others may never tell each other that they love one another but their actions show that they definitely do. For some individuals, the people that they call their family might not be related to them at all. Sometimes the closest and best families are your friends and the people you surround yourself with. For many all over the world, the family looks very different.

Elder Thomas S. Monson gave us advice on how we can have a happy home and family. He said “Our house is to be a house of order. ‘To everything, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven’ (Ecclesiastes 3:1), advised Ecclesiastes, the Preacher. Such is true in our lives. Let us provide time for family, time for work, time for study, time for service, time for recreation, time for self—but above all, time for Christ” (in Conference Report, Apr. 1984, 22; or Ensign, May 1984, 18). When we center our lives around Christ we bring peace and love into our homes and family.

Although every family is very different all over the world many of them have one thing in common and that is their love for one another. This doesn't mean that they are picture perfect or never fight as every family and every person has their flaws, as no one is perfect. Despite everything at the end of the day, you love each other and would always have their back and be there for one another. This is what I believe is the true meaning of family. They are the people that would give anything for you and love you the most.
