Family Traditions

Family traditions are something that bring individuals together, something that makes memories. Each family tradition is unique, and that family grows closer with every gathering.

In my household, family traditions are times when our ever-growing family gets to see each other again. On Christmas, I get to see my nieces and nephews, watch as their eyes light up when they open their presents. At Thanksgiving, we sit around the table after my mother and my grandma slave over the food, share what we are grateful for that happen over the past years. Every time we get together, all we need is laughter and each other to have a good time. To me, what makes a family tradition is the family.

Joy is something that is scarce in this modern world. But what people seem to forget is that joy is not something that just comes to you- real joy is earned. The importance of family has been forgotten in many parts of the world as well. Seeing a baby for the first time or listening to their first words is a life-changing experience that everyone deserves to find. I believe that family is the true source of happiness in this world, especially in a world that is filled with sadness and evil. God wanted us to find joy in the wonder of his creation. A family is a gift from God that some people aren’t able to achieve, and others are unaware of the pure happiness that it can give people.

I love spending time with my family, and hope to one day have one of my own! I want everyone in the world to be able to feel the way that I feel when I get to see my little niece, or the smile that lights up my nephew’s face when he opens the gift I gave him. A healthy family dynamic can help to bring up leaders and people who will change our world for the better, following Jesus Christ’s example and changing lives along the way.

As someone who did grow up in a healthy family surrounded by the love of my parents and siblings, I hope to spread the word of God to the ones who need it, so that they can feel the true joy I get to experience every single day! Do you think that your family dynamic has changed the way you act towards other people?

Having family traditions is important for creating good family relationships and memories. These are stories that will last a lifetime and travel through generations! Family should be something that people prioritize in their lives, to bring up young men and women of God for his purpose alone. I am grateful to have gotten the childhood that I did, with love and laughter being a part of my everyday life. Knowing that I could come home to a God-fearing family that would support me in anything that I did helped me to take risks and show that love to other people. One day I hope that, my children feel the way I always did and that they will see the importance of family.

Do you think that family is as important as I do? What are your goals for your family? What are your family traditions?
